Our Heritage

Dragon Mountain Temple

Leong San See Temple (“Dragon Mountain Temple” in Mandarin) has its origins in a temple of the same name in Nan An County, Fujian Province, established during the Tang Dynasty (618–907 AD). Reverend Chun Wu arrived in Singapore in 1913 with only a statue of Guan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy, and founded this temple in 1917.

The main hall resembles a Chinese palace, richly carved with chimera, birds, dragons, flowers, and human figurines. Remarkably, no nails were used in the construction of the main frame.
